Abstract :
In this paper, a modified algorithm based on polar sphere decoding is introduced for phase-shift based layered linear space-time codes (PSBLLSTC) that are very efficient in terms of performance and data rate. This method simplifies the decoding process and provides the possibility of using sphere decoding in the cases with non-lattice configuration while the complexity of decoding would reduce significantly in comparison with maximum likelihood decoding without loss of reliability. In this work, examples of BPSK and QPSK along with the numerical results of complexity reduction is presented. The proposed algorithm solves the problem of highly complicated decoding of PSBLLSTCs and makes them utilizable in practical cases.
