Abstract :
A new optical SAR processor is developed and experimentally tested. The main procedure of two-dimensional spatial filtering as well as the phase perturbation correction are performed by means of classical Fourier optics in a tilted-plane configuration. The raw data are introduced by means of film inserted into laser beam. The image is detected by CCD camera, displayed and stored by PC. The possibility of data input by means of liquid crystal display is investigated theoretically. Different possible optical set-up configurations were analysed and tested from the point of view of geometrical and radiometric resolution. The processor is tested by simulated point targets raw data and by real raw data of ERS-1 and ALMAZ-1 satellites
