Abstract
Hospice care or palliative care is the care for terminal patients who soon approach death e.g. within several months. An important direction in it is to promote home care. This is because it can help to reduce medical expenses and make patients feel more comfortable at home. Information technology can be essential for the end-of-life care for patients at home in the future with the rapid development of ubiquitous computing. This paper discusses a potential and our research plan for u-Hospice representing ubiquitous computing supported hospice care, from human and social perspectives.
