Abstract
Online course Web sites must be of high quality in order to help and stimulate students gathering knowledge, understand the meaning, interpret problems and solutions, use and apply concepts and methods, analyze and classify material, synthesize structures and patterns, and make judgments about the value of materials and ideas. In this paper the authors concentrate on the Web-based evaluation framework of online courses and learning management system (LMS), based on Web-based questionnaires that are directed at different target groups for the course contents and the design of the LMS as well as the Web site. The evaluation criteria are described in more detail and are included in Web-based questionnaires. Finally, results of the Web-based evaluation process for a course on software engineering are described and analyzed.
