Abstract :
A novel method of radar altimeter return noise signals identification is proposed. The second-order cumulant given by the conventional filtering method can identify the Gaussian signals. The third-order cumulant can distinguish the nonsymmetric and non-Gaussian component. The fourth-order cumulant can discern the symmetric non-Gaussian as well as harmonic components
