Abstract :
The national metrology laboratory, BNM-LCIE, has developed, a set of four new waveguide primary thermal-noise standards for frequencies between 8.2 GHz and 40 GHz. The output noise power obtained by making temperature and attenuation measurements is within (948-1012) K/spl plusmn/(1.2-1.8) K (1 /spl sigma/). The standard-type uncertainty of 14-16 dB ENR sources calibrated with switching radiometers is less than 0.02 dB.
