Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. Kapitza (1955) proposed a theory of a ball lightning. He suggested that a ball lightning is formed at an antinode of the standing radio waves produced by thunderstorms. Motivated by Kapitza´s theory, Ohtsuki and Ofuruton (1991) performed the experiment of a fireball production by microwave interference in the cavity at normal atmospheric pressure. In this experiment, a fireball always rises upward immediately after its production. In the theory, a fireball follows the antinode when it moves. Thus, this experimental result seems to contradict the theory. In the present study, the electromagnetic field was measured experimentally near a fireball in the cavity by using thermal paper. The relation is discussed between the fireball and the electromagnetic field based on this experimental result.
