Abstract
In this paper, a few techniques in microstrip feed network design for the irregular antenna arrays are presented. By making ingenious use of every corner of the array, the antenna aperture efficiency won´t be deteriorated even when the shape of the antenna is arbitrary. Prototype designs for different shapes microstrip antenna sub-arrays are first presented, and then a circular array composed of various irregular sub-arrays is designed. The simulated results show that the way used to configure feed network provides an important reference in the design of large planar antenna arrays.
