Abstract
The primary issue in terms of local network network performance is that of reliability under failure conditions. The spoked ring introduces network reliability in the form of spokes which interconnect the nodes on the ring in an arbitrary fashion. The spoked ring operation is presented and the network using the token-passing protocol is evaluated. Network efficiency under heavy load conditions is analyzed. The results show that the network reliability depends on the number of nodes between the spoked-connected nodes, spoke length, and the number of nodes of the ring
