  • Abstract
    The use of a set of general purpose, readily available and highly portable parallel programming software tools is discussed. The tools, in the form of C macros, may be used in either a shared-memory or a message-passing environment and are available for a variety of multiple-processor computers. The use of the macros in the implementation of parallel versions of the Sieve of Eratosthenes in a shared-memory environment is demonstrated
