Abstract
Directional-hemispherical and bihemispherical spectral and broadband 1-km land surface visible and IR albedos will be available from the MODIS BRDF/albedo product routinely starting in 1998. The MODIS instrument is scheduled to be launched on the Earth Observing System satellite in 1998
