  • Abstract
Study of the mechanism of radiation propagation in two-phase media (gas and solid particles) is discussed. The investigation is based on the numerical solution of the equation of radiation transfer in a homogeneous plane layer of absorbing, emitting and scattering media with transparent boundaries. The registration of scattering anisotropy is carried out in the transport approximation. The results show that the influence of scattering on the line contour averaged coefficient of medium absorption needs to be accounted for. The approximating formulas which connect the average coefficient of the medium absorption with parameters of the “fine” line structure, the geometric thickness of the medium and the part of scattering processes can be developed for various models of absorption bands
