Abstract
This paper presents a new effective torque sharing technique to reduce the torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor. A self-adaptive phase torque linear distribution law is adopted when both commutating phases are in their excitation periods. Torque observation is applied when the outgoing phase is switched off. The control strategy has been verified by dynamic simulation results and experimental results for a 4-phase SRM drive system
