Abstract
An ordered array of symmetrical wires carrying current is considered, each wire carrying a current equal in magnitude to the current in its neighboring wire but opposite in direction. The magnetic force in the array is calculated by summing the field contributions of the individual wires. The particle position is considered to be arbitrary. It is shown that the traction force can be adjusted by varying the current according to the build-up process in the separator
