Abstract :
This paper explores standards-based Fourth Generation (4G) wireless technology that is well-suited to DoD mobile communication systems. It will focus on both the advantages of 4G and contributions by LGS Innovations, its Government Communications Lab (GCL), and its parent company, Alcatel-Lucent (ALU), including modular radio, applications enablement, and advanced security standards. Options for applying this technology in DoD systems will also be identified.
