Abstract
The coupled planar dipole ultra-wide-band (CPD-UWB) antenna has been designed and its properties have been studied for wearable computer application. The design is mainly developed from multi-band antenna concept and general coupling equivalent circuit concepts of narrowband antennas and the simulation is based on finite element method. The simulation results of return loss by finite element method fit very well with the experiment measurement. The simulation analysis show that this CPD-UWB antenna can provide a good frequency notched properties with a controllable bandwidth from 2 GHz to 7 GHz though the antenna is only 5 mm away from human body. Therefore, the CPD-UWB antenna can properly applied in wearable computer devices.
