Abstract
Fault tolerant control for induction machine drives is an interesting issue since it enhances the reliability of the drive without inducing high-cost investment. In this paper, a new induction motor drive control strategy based on DTC approach is proposed. It allows a continuous free operation of the drive even if one inverter leg is completely lost. Simulation results prove the good performances of the proposed drive, not only for the machine variables (flux and torque) but also for the converter power module ratings (voltage, current and switching frequency).
