Abstract :
The increase in the use of power electronic devices and the advent of dispersed generation in today´s utility systems make power factor correction and reactive power control in general increasingly desirable. This paper introduces correlation techniques that are shown to be valuable with regard to power factor correction. The correlation control method requires no explicit parameter knowledge and only makes use of terminal voltage and current measurements. This control method is applied to the resonant converter, static VAr compensator and the power buffer with reactive control
