Abstract :
A technique termed a predictor corrector estimator (PCE), which estimates rotor position by measuring the machine´s phase voltage, phase current, and rotor speed is proposed. These measurement are easily accessible, inexpensive, and reliable. The fast convergence properties of the estimation algorithm together with the quick and simple computational requirements suggest it use as a real-time estimator with today´s microprocessor technology. Simulation results are presented which show that the PCE provides excellent rotor detection performance when using high-speed moving average measurements and a suitably chosen gain matrix
