Abstract :
First-order 2-D linear shift-varying digital filters are investigated for limit cycles due to the nonlinear effects of quantization. Sufficient conditions are derived for suppressing limit cycle due to overflow and roundoff after multiplication. These conditions are relaxed for periodically shift-varying filters. The results are illustrated with an example
