Abstract :
It is observed that in minimum MSE (mean square error) linear predictive transform (LPT) coding, a multivariable signal model of the Kalman type inherently arises. This is illustrated with a digital monochrome image example. It is proposed that the Kalman filter could make effective use of this signal model. It then follows that minimum MSE LPT modeling simultaneously addresses relevant coding and filtering problems
