Abstract
To improve the robustness and the dynamic response of the load-frequency controller in power systems, based on particle swarm optimization algorithm, the design method for fractional PID (proportional integral differential) controller is proposed, Simulation results showed that the fractional order controller had reduced the settling time and overshoot effectively compared with conventional integral controller, and has better performance in robust stability and parameter sensitivity.
