Abstract :
A novel yellow oxynitride phosphor, Ca- α-SiAION:Eu2+ with compositions of Ca(NO3)2, Na2SiO3, NaAIO2 and Eu(NO3)3, was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis reaction. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement, absorption spectrum, photoluminescence spectrum, and chromaticity of the powder phosphors were presented. It absorbs light efficiently in the NUV spectral region (280nm ˜ 350nm) and blue region (380nm ˜ 480nm), that shows a single intense broadband emission at 570 nm (yellow light). This phosphor may become a good candidate for creating white light, typically warm white light, when coupled to a blue light-emitting diode ( λex =450 nm).
