Abstract :
Yellow white phosphor SrSiO3 powders are synthesized using hydrothermal reaction followed by calcination in 95%N2-5%H2 at 900degC/3 hr. The as- prepared material showed homogeneous and stoichiometric mixing of nanosized Sr(NO3)2 and Na2SO3 particles. X-ray diffraction studies indicated orthorhombic symmetry for the final calcined SrSiO3 powders. The absorption spectra of phosphors sintered at temperatures demonstrated that the phosphor could absorb the photos at blue region (440 nm~470 nm). Beside temperature at 900degC photoluminescence measurements showed a broad peak at 565 nm. The hydrothermal method is found to be simple, rapid and helps in achieving the required stoichiometry and homogeneity of precursor materials as compared to the conventional solid state reaction route.
