Abstract :
Data dissemination in intelligent transportation system (ITS) using VANET (vehicle Ad-hoc networks) is a key area for deployment of applications that can interfere into the flow of information in the transport system. The information may include information about traffic accidents, information about available parking spaces and so on... It is therefore important that the disseminated data should get to the widest possible broadcasted area with the least possible delay. It is the only way how the disseminated data can have maximum efficiency. The most popular methods of data dissemination similar to VANET are from the category of MANET networks. These are multi-hop and store-and-forward oriented solutions. Each of these solutions has its strengths and weaknesses. In our work we propose “balanced” data dissemination algorithm (PDDA - Push Different Data Alg.) into VANET using DDBS. The target of the algorithm is to achieve a wider dissemination of current data. The proposed algorithm was tested in a simulator adhocsim.fri [4, 5] and compared with Skip Copy algorithm.
