Abstract
This paper presents a brief review and some recent works on ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filters (BPFs) for microwave UWB radio system (from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz). The design considerations and requirements for such filters are described. A recently developed full UWB BPF filter, which employed a novel broadside-coupled microstrip-to-coplanar waveguide structure, is presented. An UWB BPF filter with implemented notch-band is also presented for the purpose of avoiding the interference between the UWB and existing radio systems. Measured results are provided to show the excellent filter performance.
