Abstract
A set of source-lines-of-code (SLOC) counting tools have been developed which solves many of the problems encountered while producing software sizing data. The requirement which led to their design are described, along with the benefits to be gained from their use. The programming languages selected for analysis were Ada, Jovial, FORTRAN, and Mil-Std-1750A Assembler. The SLOC counting tools were required to analyze as input the original source code instead of a compilation listing. Each tool was constructed to be executed either as an interactive process or as a batch job on the host computer. The tools are designed for portability
