Abstract
Fast Fourier Transform is a kind of methods of image processing, which is used in this paper to analyze evolution of patterns observed in dielectric barrier discharge in air/argon. It is found that a new type of pattern named asymmetric hexagon pattern is a kind of superlattice pattern by analyzing the spatial Fourier spectrum. The evolution of the pattern with voltage increasing is not exactly the same as that with voltage decreasing. The hysteresis behavior at the upward and downward stage of applied voltage is studied.
