Abstract :
Characteristics of practical logarithmic detectors are investigated and the moments and cumulants of this type detector are determined. The integration PDF for n pulses at the output of this type detector in Rayleigh interference is approximated with Edgeworth series expansion. The accuracy of this series expansion can be controlled because of its convergence property.
