  • Abstract
    An efficient algorithm is presented in this paper to design lattice-type perfect reconstruction quadrature mirror filters (PR-QMF). Our proposed iterative algorithm designs the lattice coefficients of the filter bank directly, with flexible control of the filters´ stop-band ripple profiles. Typically, only a few iterations of our algorithm are needed to converge to an optimal solution in the weighted minimax sense. A procedure to obtain the lattice coefficients of PR-QMF banks yielding near linear phase filters is presented
