  • Abstract
A Ku-band dual linear polarized aperture coupled element for phased-array and reflectarray is presented in this paper. The proposed phased-array element is based on a dual-feed aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna and exhibits high isolation, higher than 33dB, over approximately 16% bandwidth. The reflectarray element has the advantage of large phase range, linear phase response and low reflection loss. The linearity of the phase response as a function of the length line has been obtained by adjusting the aperture length and its position with respect to the patch which is not centered as usual. The two phase delay lines are separated by a substrate which allows enough room for bending lines and results in more than three cycles of 360° phase delay for both polarizations.
