Abstract
It is argued that one possible promising area for the application of AI techniques is systems theory. From an engineering viewpoint, systems theory generally deals with the interactions and behavior of the state variables of a system when subjected to constraint conditions or external inputs. The practicality of an AI approach to a limited area of systems theory using optimization methods is evaluated by determining the closed-loop transfer response of a multivariable autonomous system given the open-loop characteristics of the system model
