Abstract
The operation of AC induction motors at voltage and frequencies other than their nominal value can affect significant changes in the motor operating costs, performance characteristics and life expectancy. This paper explores these changes using the NEMA Motor-Generator standard as the benchmark for acceptable performance and variations.
