  • Abstract
    Using a novel metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) structure, we combine a large-active-emitter volume with strong electric fields for carrier acceleration. We obtain THz field amplitudes of 6 kV/cm using excitation pulse energies of 10 μJ.
