  • Abstract
A systematic investigation on PV array output consisting of sub-arrays installed on plural inclined surfaces has been done based on simulation calculation for the purpose of roof top solar cell array installation. Attention is especially paid to the amount of the outputs and differences between the connection of the modules (parallel or series). In the case of parallel connection mode, there exist no severe problems if protected by blocking diode and output energy is always larger than that of series connection mode. In summer season, output energy from the array in which all sub-array is faced due south, is almost equal to that from an array in which a part of array facing due south and rest facing due west and even that from facing east and west combination. In the case of series connection of sub-arrays having the same tilt angle but different azimuth angle with bypass diode, maximum output voltage jumps several times in a day depending on the short circuit current from each sub-array
