Abstract :
It is maintained that personal telecommunications will require the development of a radio transmission system or systems which are both reliable and low cost. It is shown that a single, physical radio-transmission air interface is impractical. It is suggested that multiple air interfaces will be required, each supplying connectivity to a different group of users or applications. It is thought that combining this idea with intelligent network concepts and personal rather than location numbering schemes would achieve the desired personal telecommunications network
