Abstract
This paper will show how many of the major worldwide access carriers cooperated to minimize the cost of G-PON implementation by clarifying their requirements at near/medium term and identifying commonalities among these requirements (e.g. optical transmission, split ratio, optical budget, line rate, GTC, QoS, Service mapping) thanks to a G-PON CTS document that has been finally approved in February 2006.
