  • Abstract
    The damage of forest ecosystems by aerosol wastes and contaminants is increasing. This fact led to an alarming situation in Europe and world-wide, which made it necessary to install measuring stations to investigate causes and observe the ecological emission situation mainly in silvicultures at desirable locations distant from grid connection and urbanisation. The presented measuring station satisfies those requirements by means of an emission-free, self-sufficient and optimised photovoltaic energy supply in combination with an absolute maintenance-free, long-lived battery storage system. The energy demand was minimised by means of a variable clocked measurement operation and modification of measuring instruments. Further, a so called PMPP (programmed maximum power point) control implemented into the overall control system, optimises the energy supply
