Abstract
Integration of Landsat images and topographic maps analyses, aerial photo interpretations together with petrologic and geochronological studies on volcanic rocks, have allowed the authors to define the Yerer-Tullu Wellel Volcano Tectonic Lineament as an E-W trending extensional structure, transversal to the Main Ethiopian Rift. This structure is interpreted as an expression on the African Plate of the combined effect of Gulf of Aden opening and Main Ethiopian Rift formation
