Abstract
A method is designed to extract straight edges from airborne LiDAR images that usually show zigzagged edges. The method first uses a median filter to straighten the zigzagged edges and then uses a gradient operator with minimum smoothing processing to detect the edges. Finally, edges are extracted with the help of the gradient directions. Extracted edges are straight and have accurate locations too.
