Abstract :
A frequency stability enhanced synthesizer, which receives a signal transmitted from a base station and uses it as frequency standard in a mobile radio unit, was developed. Key points of the synthesizer to obtain high-frequency stability are: improvement in accuracy of detecting signal frequency and compensation of frequency detection error caused by receiver configuration. These are discussed theoretically and tested experimentally. On the basis of these results, a frequency-stabilization circuit was developed. The performance of the synthesizer incorporating the circuit is presented
