  • Abstract
    This paper introduces the design of intelligent garbage can, which is based on microprocessor control technique. STC89S52 SCM was adopted as the main control chip. when one hand or an object approached the inlet at an about 20cm distance, the intelligent infrared-sensing garbage can could open itself; it would be closed automatically after the garbage was thrown in (about three sec.). The system would be promising if getting further improvement, and be especially applicable to hospitals, parks, airports and other public places.
