Abstract
The author describes the actions necessary to implement a successful cost-of-quality reporting system. The impact that a cost-of-quality reporting system has on an organization and the resultant availability and use of performance measures are examined. The issue of managing is explored as it relates to introducing the cost-of-quality system. Attention is then turned to the specifics of the cost-of-quality reporting system development, its implementation, methodology, organization, and management tactics, and education and training. The requirements for ongoing support and maintenance of the system are covered. Certain unique requirements, by industry or segment, are highlighted
