Abstract
A new protocol, called Bi-Fair bandwidth Estimation congestion Control Protocol (Bi-FECP), is proposed in this paper. Bi-FECP explicitly estimates the fair bandwidth both in routers and end-hosts. The fair bandwidth estimated in routers is delivered to the end-hosts using the congestion header. The end-hosts adjust their sending rate according to the two estimated values of fair bandwidth. The performance of Bi-FECP is evaluated using NS2 simulations, which shows that Bi-FECP converges to high efficiency and max-min fairness quickly.
