Abstract
Infrared absorption properties of gases are the bases of gaseous analyses by infrared optical methods. This paper proposed a method that can calculate the gaseous infrared absorption coefficients at any pressure and temperature. Based on HITRAN2004 database, the infrared absorption properties of dissolved gases in transformer oil including CH4, C2H6, C2H4, C2H2, CO, CO2 and H2O, were researched by the proposed method. The absorption coefficients, the locations of main absorption bands, the central wave numbers and the peak absorption coefficients of the strongest absorption lines of each gas in the 500~4000cm-1 spectral range were given. Calculation and analysis results are important bases that can be used in qualitative and quantitative analyses of dissolved gases in transformer oil by infrared optical methods such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and photoacoustic spectroscopy.
