Abstract :
Electronic waste legislation is non-uniform, at both the national and global level, and a variety of financial and collection schemes exist. In some locations, e-waste stakeholders have preempted mandatory take-back by creating their own e-waste programs. Whether involved by mandate or voluntarily, stakeholders would like to develop strategies that minimize their financial burden. However, the economic performance of an e-waste recovery system is affected by collection and market uncertainties. Thus, to ensure system success, stakeholders must first understand the impact of uncertainty on economic performance.
