On the cooperation between APEIE and IEEE in the period 1996-2000

For the fifth time the local electronic community has organized the International Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instruments Engineering (APEIE´2000) to attract Russian and loreign specialists for discussion on some selected topics of their academic and/or industrial interests. Based on active support from ED-S, CPMT-S and SSC-S the appropriate Professional Groups have been formed by the local Chapter which consists now of about 80 members. Permanently being in touch with local professionals we have understood that there exist a good potential for increasing number of EEE members in West Siberia. As a result the Novosibirsk Chapter has been recently extended towards Solid-state Circuits Society. New LEO-S Chapter has been launched as well as ED Student Branch. Besides, new Chapter has been launched in Tomsk last year.
