Abstract
A description is given of an AI (artificial intelligence) implementation in the field of power plants: malfunction diagnosis based on plant performance evaluation. Such a criterion allows for almost immediate response of the system to situations disturbing the correct functioning of the plant. Some details of the plant model are presented. Also described are the knowledge organization adopted, which is general for all the plant subsystems and the actual implementation of the part related to the condenser subsystem in a thermal power plant by means of a commercial AI development shell (KEE)
