Abstract :
This paper presents a novel method for the interior shading stage of pencil rendering. With screen-space ambient occlusion approach, this real-time method can distinguish the areas which should be shaded dark more precisely and more naturally. To achieve the pencil stokes effect, we propose a blurring method to generate a pencil-texture-like effect but without any use of texture. The whole rendering processes are implemented on GPU. We illustrate some examples to show the effects and the efficiency of our method.
