Abstract :
In this paper a method will be presented for estimating the direction and power of several discrete signals, incident on a linear array of equispaced sensors. Unlike most other methods, this approach does not require a prior knowledge of the background noise field. It is demonstrated that the estimates are asymptotically unbiased, and that the performance can be superior to eigenvector methods.
